ESIIL Stars
ESIIL Stars is a 4-month paid internship program modeled after NSF-supported HDR Earth Data Science Corps. This data skills training utilizes career-focused webinars, an open-access textbook and project-based learning. Our partner institutions include Haskell Indian Nations University, Oglala Lakota College, Metropolitan State University of Denver, United Tribes Technical College, San Carlos Apache College, Tohono O’odahm Community College.

Tribal Engagement
We work closely with Tribal Colleges, Universities, and other Tribal partners to share opportunities, co-create initiatives, collaborate on projects, provide training, and co-build a Tribal EDS workforce model.
Partnerships
41 partner organizations share data, analytical tools, applications, and cyberinfrastructure (CI); support training, engagement, outreach, conferences, and workshops; advance data sovereignty and Traditional Ecological Knowledge; and foster interdisciplinary approaches to large-scale environmental issues.
